If I saw someone that was my measuring stick and I think I can beat them now that means I expecting them to come in at a certain power. Chapter: 426 (DBZ 232), P4.2-3 Context: Vegeta talks to Gohan Vegeta: “At that time there was a large gap between our powers…But what about now? While you’ve been enjoying peace, I’ve continued to train.” Bulma: “That’s right! He doesn’t work one bit! Just like your father! I guess Saiyans just don’t work.” This qoute tells me Vegeta has increased and he is expecting Gohan to stay the same. Up till this Point Vegeta says he can beat Gohan and Goku will be his only challenge. When Gohan goes SSJ2 Vegeta says his power is weaker than Cell and when he fights Dabura he calls him trash. This means Power wise Gohan is weaker, skill wise he has lost everything. Vegeta's reactions make me think that Gohan is no weaker than Goku at the Cell games. Vegeta being over Kid Gohan is one of those topics that could go either way but personally I don't see how a master stagiest like Vegeta would under estimate Gohan to be weaker then he was at the Cell games and then be that upset when his thoughts were confirmed. Gohan was Vegeta's measuring stick he knows he would need to get to that level just to think he was ahead of Goku. Edit: Also the Gap that Vegeta is talking about with Goku isn't from the cell games it's between those two from since they met. Vegeta is suppose to be naturally stronger but Goku always finds a way to inch ahead. Edited by miguelnuva, Jan 14 2013, 02:24 AM.

Vegeta pretty much surpasses Teen Gohan Chapter: 452 (DBZ 258), P1.1-4 Goku: “Gohan, it’s your turn next, but have you trained properly?” Vegeta: “Unfortunately, it seems he got carried away in peace and didn’t do any significant training. Our powers are higher than his now…Though I suppose there’s no telling what would happen if he snapped and went into a frenzy… ” |

Vegeta was stronger when they met, man. More than 2x stronger. Vegeta was also a bit stronger in the Androids Saga. He was multifolds stronger post-RoSaT, and he was multifolds weaker after Goku's RoSaT session. It isn't just the general gap between them. It's also not Goku "inching ahead," it's a matter of his disadvantage having remained the same, not Goku having outdone him again. "This gap wouldn't change..." ....so what other gap could that be referring to? Besides, the one point that crushes your entire argument is that you believe Goku is only "a little stronger" than Kid Gohan. That line, no matter how you take it, cannot mean that Goku is only "a little" stronger than PM Vegeta. |

Vegeta starts stronger than Goku goes KKx3. Goku beats the Ginyu force and Frieza where Vegeta is left helpless by both battles. Vegeta trains up to SSJ and then goes in the ROSAT and then Goku not only gets stronger then him, he finds a superior SSJ form and does it in less time. I think the gap Vegeta is mentioning how Goku always finds a way to get ahead of him no matter how much Vegeta trains. Due to the large powers in the Buu saga Goku could be a little ahead of Kid Gohan and Vegeta could be a nano bit ahead. As power levels get bigger even those the percent gaps stay the same they lose standing. Vegeta being 20% behind Goku in the Cell games would be a bigger PL number gap then the same 20% in the Buu saga. |

But this isn't about Goku getting ahead, this is about a gap having never changed. Can't be referring to their overall rivalry throughout the series or whatever. As for that last line, that's pretty baseless honestly, and it's just a way to get away with using big numbers. Besides, even going by that logic and your figures, you still get Goku to be only "a little stronger" than PM Vegeta, just like Kid Gohan, which...doesn't work. |
